When an old hometown friend asked if I’d suit up and be a groomsman at his wedding on a Texan ranch I took the opportunity to make a photographic project out of the transatlantic adventure. Combining Dallas duties with a subsequent short trip to take in New York for the first time, the resulting images and experiences were combined into a 72 page magazine format travelogue. As with any personal project the aim is to add some new skills or bolster existing ones. This process provided further experience of shooting photos specifically with magazine layouts in mind and many lessons were learned in typography and effective writing.
Adding to the knowledge gained when putting together my Madrid Sin Visor travel photobook, plus using a more comprehensive set of tools to capture and compile the images, I remain proud of the outcome several years later.
