Planet Pollenca
Now and again the urge strikes to attempt one of these mini-planet panoramas. Freshly fuelled by a lovely breakfast in one of these cafes lining Pollenca’s main square, I decided to give it a whirl. The finished article comprises of 19 shots stitched together to make a full 360 degree panorama, then wrapped into the planet shape. The sky and buildings needed no cleanup work, only the floor in the centre needing a little post production.
There are a lot of bodged ones knocking around the internets, but when they really work these mini-planets are great fun and make very distinctive images.
York Minster
A perspective-bending vertical panorama of York Minster, one of the largest Gothic Cathedrals in Europe. This is a series of landscape format shots taken with the Sigma 10-20 and stitched together in software to make a portrait format image. I’ve no idea why it has sat unloved on a hard drive since 2008, but it’s here now.
